Late 70's, early 80's cult band from South Auckland. Unfortunately no listenable media currently exists following the theft of several C90 live concert tapes from the Blue Cortina. It is rumoured that the NZ Musical Society has a very rare live recording safely stored deeply in their vaults somewhere. The No-Ones were Ned No-One(vocals), Jason No-One (guitar), Tony No-One (bass), John No-One (guitar) & Derek No-One(drums).

Actually the bus looked like this when it was in action. The hay bail beds were always well used.

As per normal, the No-Ones never paid for anything. Infact the NZ Railways "lost" this vehicle one night in the 1980's when it stopped in Taihape. I doubt there was any significance that The No-Ones happened to be playing a gig on that same night in Taihape as the World Gumboot Throwing Championships, which also happened to be the same night the bus went missing. I expect we will see this piece of memorabilia on TradeMe soon.
I passed this bus sitting at the front of a house in Preston Rd Otara recently. It has now become fully tenanted with a new immigrant family taking up residence. It was reported that when rearranging the hay bales (still there) that another piece of No-Ones history was rediscovered ... one pair of Ned No-Ones red underpants (still had the mark where his mum wrote his name), looking considerably worse for wear.
hey Ned
John No One here
